Donations went towards replacing HVAC systems on several Southern Nevada homes, as well as a much-needed re-roofing project for a longtime resident.
The International Roofing Expo's 12th annual Community Service Day was a success.
IRE collected donations from attendees as well as donated 1% of registration fees to Rebuilding Together, Southern Nevada.
Commercial Roofers, Inc. donated labor and Beacon Building Products donated the materials to replace the roof on 73-year-old Las Vegas resident Lee Ann Luttrell's home.
She has multiple disabilities that make it difficult for her to get around independently and require her to use a walker.
Donations also went towards replacing HVAC systems on several Southern Nevada homes.
“The impact the volunteers have on our clients is second to none and your volunteers are honestly some of the hardest working people we have come out,” said Bob Cleveland, ECHM, the executive director of Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada and National Affiliate Council representative. “And that’s saying something considering we average about 1,500 volunteers a year.”
Next year’s Community Service Day will take place on Jan. 31, 2022. IRE takes place Feb. 1-3, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
“In February we will be back where this all started, 13 years ago, in New Orleans and we are very much looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and helping residents of New Orleans that are in need,” said Brandi McElhaney, senior conference manager, IRE.
