Spec Mix Bricklayer 500® World Championship
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 11:00 a.m.

Don’t miss WOC’s most exciting live event and top attraction. Revered as the “Super Bowl of Masonry,” the competition showcases the world’s best bricklayers melding a winning combination of skill, speed and stamina. Thousands of attendees pack the Masonry Madness® Arena each year to witness 26 bricklayers and their rockstar mason tenders compete for 60 minutes for the opportunity to take home $125,000 in cash and prizes, including a Kubota XL1140 utility vehicle and an Essick Pro12 mixer, as well as bragging rights as the “world’s best bricklayer.”

MCAA’s Masonry Skills Challenge
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 8:00 a.m.
The Masonry Skills Challenge consists of masonry apprentices in first-, second- and third-year levels competing against winning apprentices from various regions. The contestants put their skills to the test as they complete a project without preparation or assistance. Cash and other prizes are presented to the top three projects at each level.

Spec Mix Toughest Tender®
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 10 a.m.
Check out talented mason tenders as they set up their Spec Mix Bricklayer 500® teams. Mason tender competitors must strategically lift, carry and place thousands of pounds of materials and tools needed for their bricklayer’s workstation. The one with the fastest time wins cash and other prizes. 

MCAA’s Fastest Trowel on the Block
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 10:20 a.m.
This competition promotes speed and craftsmanship in masonry. Journeyman masons, accompanied by their tenders, compete in a high-speed, 20-minute challenge. Each contestant's goal is to complete as much of a 30-foot-long wall as possible, using CMU and mortar. This contest rewards the best mason journeymen for their hard work with cash and other prizes.

Western Star Trucks Get Tough Challenge
Tuesday, Jan. 23–Thursday, Jan. 25
Have a commercial driver’s license? If so, sign up for this highly anticipated competitive event. You’ll drive the truck of your choice on the course--and every driver takes home a special prize.

Decorative Concrete LIVE!
Tuesday, Jan. 23–Thursday, Jan. 25
See the innovative advances transforming decorative concrete jobsites, with industry veterans explaining and demonstrating how to transform ordinary concrete into showpieces.

CIM Silent & Live Auction
Wednesday, Jan. 24  
Support the industry by bidding on a wide variety of auction items, including equipment, supplies, vacation packages, computers, TVs and more. The auction is a major funding source for concrete industry management programs at five public universities, which are key resources for populating the concrete industry with talented college-educated professionals. Weatherton Award Presentation Competition
Monday, Jan. 22, 2:30 p.m.
Three students from each concrete industry management program have been invited to present, with their presentations reflecting their research activities, internships, capstone coursework and lessons learned. The colleges are California State University, Chico; Middle Tennessee State University; New Jersey Institute of Technology; South Dakota State University; and Texas State University.

WOC registrants can attend the competition judged by key industry leaders and meet the students following the formal program. The student with the best presentation will be the Bob Weatherton Award recipient and will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Work Truck LIVE!
All show days
If you want to connect with general and commercial contractors, work truck fleets, municipalities and OEMs, this presentation from Modern Work Truck Solutions is a must see. The area will highlight innovations in truck and accessory design and configuration that help contractors increase safety and productivity. It will bring attention to industry-leading companies that manufacture chassis and supply up-fitting accessories, as well as technologies contractors can use to customize their vehicles. 

Artificial Rock Sculpting LIVE!
All show days
Artisans will create stunning examples of this unique aspect of concrete construction. Often described as a technique where construction meets art, artificial stone carving is found on vertical, decorative and structural features, enhancing standard commercial and residential construction. There also will be two hands-on zones for attendees.

AAC – Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Pavilion

In this space, attendees will discover the opportunities AAC has for the U.S. construction industry. The new AAC Pavilion will provide information on:

  • Production and new building technologies.

  • Typical applications.

  • Blocks, panels and claddings.

  • Beneficial product properties.
