Pool & Spa Professional is proud to announce its Influencer Video Series, filmed at the 2021 PSP/Deck Expo.
Pool & Spa Professional, the Official Digital Media Brand of the show, provides backyard solutions for the builder, retail and service professional.
For this exclusive series, Pool & Spa Pro interviewed 17 influential pool and spa leaders about a variety of topics, as we keep a finger on the pulse of the industry.
They are:
Jeff Brooks, VP of sales at Aqua Quip
Edgar De Jesus, John Chakalis and Zac Nicklas; hosts of the Pool Nation Podcast
Mike Farley, designer at Claffey Pools
Matt Gohlke, president of Gohlke Pools
Greg Howard, CEO of Carecraft
Sabeena Hickman, president and CEO of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance
Glenn Mathewson, president of BuildingCodeCollege.com
Mike Nantz, owner of Elite Concepts, Inc.

David Peterson, CEO of Watershape University
Skip Phillips, International Vanishing Edge Education Program instructor and Questar Pools’ founder Bruce Porter, president/CMO of SWAT Marketing Solutions Inc.
Randy Tumber, president of Tumber International Landscape Training (T.I.L.T.)
“With the show returning to an in-person event and with the launch of the new digital brand, this was a terrific way to connect with industry professionals as well as our audience,” Williams said.
The video series will launch Jan. 5 on the Pool & Spa Professional website and will appear in the weekly Business Update newsletter.
These influencers discussed labor, marketing, supply chain, construction, design—and more.
For example, one of the challenges the industry is facing is how to say no to the overwhelming demand for services.
"You need to work on what you are best at and find others to help with the rest," Farley advises. "Where do you find those professionals to help with the rest? At the pool show!"
As a way to grow your business, Penton is an advocate of continued education.
“No matter how challenging my schedule becomes, I've committed to making it a priority to participate in at least one in person educational opportunity every year—often more than one,” he said. “As an instructor with Watershape University, I have seen first-hand the benefits students receive from in-person learning.”
