SRS Distribution Acquires Wimsatt Building Materials

SRS Distribution Inc. said it acquired Wimsatt Building Materials, a distributor of residential and commercial roofing, siding, windows & doors, and other related products with eight locations across Michigan and Ohio. 

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Wayne, Michigan, the Wimsatt was founded in 1936 by James Wimsatt and his brothers and is currently run by CEO Bob Hoffman and his sons Rob Hoffman and Charlie Hoffman, the company's VP. 

Charlie Hoffman will continue to lead the company’s dedicated team under the Wimsatt banner.

“My family and I have spent most of our lives building Wimsatt’s brand, reputation, and culture and I have always prided myself on being an independent distributor," Bob Hoffman said. "As such, this was not a decision we took lightly. After contemplating the future and the legacy of the business, we concluded that now was the right time to find a new growth partner. We are confident that Wimsatt and its people will continue to prosper under SRS’ ownership.”
