It used to be data about the pool and spa industry was as hard to find as chlorine post-pandemic.

But happily, that’s no longer the case.

Today’s professionals have a bevy of data to show where they stand in the marketplace compared to other professionals, along with the overall health of the industry.

Here’s a rundown of some of the latest data that’s available:

  • What's the biggest challenge pool and spa pros are facing? The PSP/Deck Expo 360's latest flash poll has the answers: 91% say it's supply chain issues/shortages; 58 say it's labor shortages and 42% say it's not having enough time to get everything done, according to the unscientific survey.

  • Wondering which region of the country boasts the most builders? Or how builders fared during the pandemic? Just check out Pool & Spa News’ "Top 50 Builders," which answers those questions and many more about top builders in the U.S.;

  • The same report even outlines how the top 10 builders in customer service ensure their clients walk away happy and satisfied;

  • Retailers who specialize in hot tubs can find out how hot tub sales from 2019 compared to 2020, along with gaining an understanding of how spa retailers fared during the pandemic—and what they’re doing to thrive post-pandemic. That’s all in the "2021 State of the Industry Hot Tub" report from Aqua;

  • The publication also offers the 2021 State of the Industry for Builders. For example, just how much backlog do builders have amid the post-pandemic building boom? You’ll find that answer and 16 other data points about builders in the "2021 State of Industry Builder Report;"

  • Finally, for pros who really want to dig into data, there’s the "Pkdata 2020 Market Report," which crunches pool and spa data in multiple ways.

So whether you’re a builder, retailer, service tech or a mix of all three, there’s plenty of information to inform business decisions—and make 2021 your best year ever!
