With World of Concrete 2025 just a few weeks away, ConstructioNext spoke with Steven Pomerantz, the show's senior marketing manager, about what we can look forward to this year.
ConstructioNext: What sets WOC 2025 apart from previous years?
Steven Pomerantz: Coming off our 50th anniversary, the World of Concrete 2025 edition is expected to feature several differentiating elements compared to previous editions, including:
Greater emphasis on new technologies in concrete and masonry construction, including advancements in materials, automation and digital tools.
A stronger commitment to sustainability, eco-friendly practices and materials, including carbon-reducing technologies.
Increased coverage of current trends affecting the concrete industry, such as modular construction, innovative materials, workforce development, resilience and climate adaptation, regulatory changes and infrastructure demands.
New and expanded educational programs, and sessions that address challenges and solutions in the concrete and masonry sectors.
A broader range of exhibitors, highlighting innovations from both established companies and startups.
These features are designed to reflect the evolving landscape of the concrete and masonry industries and respond to new challenges and opportunities.
CN: What are some must-sees for attendees?
SP: The World of Concrete aims to keep industry professionals informed about trends and tools that can enhance efficiency and effectiveness in concrete and masonry construction. This year’s show offers new exhibitors focused on 3D printing, drones or artificial intelligence along with educational offerings geared to these topics. We will also host a 3D printing luncheon that will focus on the challenges contractors face as they bring this type of application to the field. In this interactive, peer-to-peer environment, a panel of industry experts will discuss the challenges and attempt to create a consensus on how the industry should merge its efforts to advance 3D construction printing.
Additionally, only in Las Vegas at the World of Concrete Bronze Lot can you take part in the masonry industry’s biggest party—Masonry Madness Day. You’ll see highly skilled masonry apprentices, mason tenders, block layers and world-class bricklayers go head-to-head to become 2025 world champions.
Also, don’t miss the 23rd anniversary of the SPEC MIX Bricklayer 500—the World of Concrete’s most exciting live event and top attraction. Revered as the “Super Bowl of Masonry,” the competition showcases the world’s best bricklayers melding the winning combination of skill, speed and stamina. The payout is over $125,000, including a new 4x4 Chevrolet truck, Kubota utility vehicle, Essick Pro12 Mixer and thousands in cash and prizes.
CN: If an attendee can only make it to the show for a single day, which day would you suggest?
SP: Wednesday is our busiest day—where we have competitions going on all day in the Bronze Lot as part of Masonry Madness and the CIM Auction in addition to our vast education program.
CN: How does sustainability play into WOC 2025?
SP: Sustainability continues to be important both domestically and globally. Producing World of Concrete gives us many opportunities to improve our impact environmentally, socially and economically in the regions we operate. World of Concrete is evolving and will play a role in helping the market improve its own sustainability.
At the 2025 show, you will see:
