Local emergency personnel on Tuesday evening responded to a chemical release at Haviland Products Company’s manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the company announced.

Haviland said that everyone on-site is safe and the area was stabilized. No injuries have been reported, per Haviland. 

A minor release dissipated outside the building located at 521 Ann St., according to the company. 

Currently, there is no threat to the facility’s broader area, Haviland said, adding that the area has been isolated as a precaution and the Grand Rapids Police Department is on scene limiting access to pedestrians and vehicles.

“We are investigating the incident and will provide further information as it is known,” said Meg Post, president of Haviland Enterprises, Inc. “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our employees and the Grand Rapids community.”
